Nora Williams joins the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra Friday, October 28th at 7:30 in the evening (with a 6:15 pre-concert talk) for Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto No. 1 and Mahler Symphony No. 5 at Bethel Church Auditorium in Crown Point, Indiana.
Mahler's colossal Fifth Symphony embraces an entire world of emotion and sound, from the opening trumpet solo of the heart rending funeral march to the tender and loving Adaietto, the most famous of Mahler's works. Performed by a large orchestra, Mahler's Fifth has been called a transformative experience. Chicago Symphony cellist Loren Brown joins the orchestra for Saint-Saëns' virtuosic Cello Concerto.
