Johann Sebastian Bach wrote 6 amazing concertos for various soloists and strings called the Brandenburg Concertos. The opening of this concert, sure to warm the winter chill, will be Concerto No. 2 for violin, recorder, trumpet, oboe, and strings. It is a keenly crafted tour de force for these soloists and at the heart of the great composer's ability to show diverse colors from diverse instruments. The powerhouse on the program is Sergei Rachmonov's Romantic Symphony No. 2. This most renowned Russian master is well known for sweeping symphonic color, gorgeous melodies, and orchestral landscaping of the most brilliant hues. Experience the majestic greatness of two of the greatest symphonic geniuses in classical music.
