Carmen and Carmina Burana

  • Living Hope Church 9000 West Taft Street Merrillville, IN, 46410 United States (map)

Join Nora and the Northwest Indiana Symphony orchestra for a concert of unforgettable melodies imbued with pure power.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Assistant Concertmaster David Taylor will perform Sarasate’s virtuoso violin fantasy based on Bizet’s opera Carmen.

Orff’s choral masterwork, Carmina Burana, one of the most recognized and loved piece of the 21st century, is based on a collection of medieval poems that examine the universal themes of the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of the return of Spring, and the pleasures and perils of love and celebration.

Carmen is the quintessential seductress and Bizet’s music will utterly seduce you!
